Crossroads 55+ Adults Ministry
Wherever you are in this stage of life--gainfully employed, empty nester, or retiree--there are several ways to get involved in our Crossroads 55 Plus Ministry.
OUR PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY
Our philosophy is to provide ministry for each believer to connect with their Lord and Savior on a daily basis, to connect with other believers in small groups, Sunday Morning Connect Classes (Sunday School), and morning Worship Services. Then out of a rich Christian experience to connect with other people who are in need of a Savior, needing spiritual encouragement, or needing a helping hand.
SUNDAY MORNING CLASS
Teaching - 11:00 AM | Room 751
Mature adults who appreciate in-depth Bible study will enjoy receiving teaching and participating in class discussion that deals with the issues of life in a practical way. We endeavor to give a fair and balanced exposition of the Scripture that provides spiritual stability and an anchor of hope in challenging times. In the Ambassadors Class for the current series of lessons, the theme is About the Walk of Faith. The study consists of selected passages that relate to the faith aspect of the Christian life. The lesson is mixed with good class discussion and a genuine effort to make the Word of God applicable to every day life. Join Director Vernon Hedge as he teaches God’s Word with the warmth of God’s love.
SMALL GROUP
Small group gatherings form the primary venue for social connection. They meet, for the most part, in homes around the area. This gives opportunity for closeness with others who are interested in each member beyond the surface. Small groups also provide support for each of its members who are going through a hard time. In this atmosphere of closeness, relationships develop that prove to last for many years. For information about small groups meeting in your area, call John Frye at 981-0222 ext. 150 or e-mail him at john.frye@crossroads.org and give him your address and zip code.
SOCIAL EVENTS
In addition to other church-wide special events sponsored by the various Men and Women's Ministries, we host our own monthly socials and field trips throughout the year. Cards are sent to the 55+ adults church-wide address list advertising any special event with instructions for location and reservations for head count. See our display table labeled Ambassadors 55+ in the Grand Hallway or call for more information (see contacts listed below). You may also view a listing of our upcoming events by going to the 55+ Special Events page.

MISSIONS AND COMMUNITY IMPACT
The Crossroads 55+ Ministry encourages prayer, direct service, and financial support of local and foreign outreach ministries such as Hope Ministries, House of Hope, and Operation Christmas Child. Each November a group travels to Charlotte, NC to work in the Operation Christmas Child distribution center as a Short-term Missions project.
