Awana is an international children's program that reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. Kids work at home in age-appropriate handbooks, then return to their clubs each Wednesday (from September through May) to earn awards and have fun, all within a positive incentive-based structured program.
We have a unique theme each week to add to the fun and often enhance the learning. Here is the Theme Night Schedule for Spring 2017.
Awana is designed for kids from 3-years-old through 5th grade, but also open to 6th graders who have been in Awana and want to complete the program.
Cubbies is a program designed for 3-5 year old preschool children, who are potty-trained. The 2-year curriculum is written in a fun, storybook style with read-aloud stories and lovable characters. The AppleSeed (Year 1) and HoneyComb (Year 2) handbooks combine basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help Cubbies grasp simple biblical truths. Each Cubbies handbook contains a CD which provides helpful review to use at home as they progress through 26 Bear Hug sections, along with four special-day sections. At club, your Cubbie will review the verse you helped teach them at home. Working through the handbook with your child develops your spiritual leadership and helps you instill in your child a lifelong biblical worldview. Cubbies love coming to Awana in their blue uniform vests, earning awards for their memory work, and playing fun games.
Sparks ignites the curiosity of Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade children to learn about the people and events of the Bible—building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. For many, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love earning awards for memorizing Bible verses to display on their red vests, playing exciting games, and spending time with leaders and friends. Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider, WingRunner, and SkyStormer.
T&T Adventure teaches 3rd and 4th graders that salvation in Christ is the ultimate adventure! Kids in T&T learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly trust what it says. There are two Ultimate Adventure handbooks, and each one answers four questions about God and the Bible that 3rd and 4th graders frequently ask. Clubbers learn eight answers to each of these questions along with verses to back up these answers. The handbooks include Bible studies and activities that allow children to go deeper into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation.
T&T Challenge trains 5th and 6th graders that walking faithfully with Christ is the ultimate challenge! Each Ultimate Challenge handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that preteens typically ask. Kids learn eight answers to each of these questions, memorizing verses that back up the answers. Bible studies, activities and service opportunities take them further into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation.
Volunteer In Awana
Awana LOVES volunteers! There are several volunteer roles from which to choose. Opportunities include leading songs, giving 10-15 minute group devotionals, helping with preschool crafts, listening to kids recite Bible verses they've memorized, and even carpentry and shopping for prizes! Adults or teens interested in serving in Awana are encouraged to send an email to our Awana Commander, Scott Fidler. If you have a gift or passion, we can find a way for you to use it to assist the Awana Ministry!
We also offer child care for children, ages 6 weeks through 5th grade, who are not participating in Awana. It's a free, safe, and fun environment where they sing, play games, and have a brief lesson/activity. More...
