Families Ministry

Ministering to Families of Children with Special Needs

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 31: 8-9

Our mission is to support people with special needs and their families in their journey to connect with Christ.

Shadows for children

We offer shadows for our special needs children to aid in the understanding of instruction and teaching during Sunay morning programs. Future goals are to have shadows available for Wednesday evening programs and a less structured class during the second Sunday service for special needs children to allow families to be more actively involved in service, worship, and fellowship.

Do you want to be a Special Friend?

The Special Friends Ministry has many opportunities for you to become involved in a very rewarding ministry. Unlimited hugs and love are just two of the many benefits you'll enjoy as a volunteer in this ministry. Current needs:

Shadows

Work one-on-one with a special needs child in a classroom setting.

Teachers

We're seeking volunteers to oversee a less structured class for children with special needs during the second Sunday service.

Curriculum

Do you have experience modifying curriculum as a school teacher? We could use your skills to help modify our Sunday school curriculum for our special needs children.

Assimilation:

Help us assist parents new to Crossroads or whose children have been newly diagnosed with a disability connect to services both in the community and within the Church.
