ALPHA

Churchwide Alpha Training

Wake Forest Campus, August 15
Rm 205  |  12:30-2:30pm

This is a churchwide event for those who have interest in learning about Alpha Courses and starting Alpha Groups. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Register yourself and for your childcare needs below as spots are limited.

+ What is ALPHA? We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.

Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes -- you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: Hospitality, a Talk and Good Conversation.

+ Who is ALPHA for? Alpha is for anyone. People attend from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. Participants come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, and the claims of Jesus. Some people are curious to understand what the Christian faith believes. Others come to learn more about the God who really changes lives. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith or simply aren't able to articulate why they believe what they believe. Everyone is welcome.

+ How much does ALPHA cost? There is no charge for attending the Alpha course.

+ What is discussed? Over the 10 weeks of Alpha, participants explore the following topics:

• Who is Jesus?
• Why did Jesus die?
• How can we have faith?
• Why and how do I pray?
• Why and how should I read the Bible?
• How does God guide us?
• Who is the Holy Spirit?
• How can I resist evil?
• Why and how should I tell others?
• Does God heal today?
• What’s the purpose of church?
