    Proverbs 27:17 states, "As Iron sharpens Iron, so one man sharpens another.” This class will give men an opportunity to live out this principle and be challenged to grow as a disciple. Join us on this journey to connect with other men and live out God's design for Biblical Manhood in every area of life. Mark Thompson and Pat Teague will lead this 7-week discussion on Pat Teague’s book, Winning Plays For Life. This book written based of the principles found in Hebrews 12.

    Pat Teague is a former NFL football player who has a desire to help men grow in their faith and lead their families well. Pat works with many local high schools and has seen numerous athletes give their life to Christ.

    Wednesday, January 22 – Depression. Our guest speaker is local Christian Psychiatrist Dr. Peter Van Dyck, MD. Dr. Van Dyck has been in private practice in Raleigh since 1987. He was Medical Director of the Minirth-Meier/New Life Treatment Program at Holly Hill Hospital and later the Clinical Director of the Adult Inpatient Program at the same hospital. 


     

    Wednesday, February 26 – Suicide Prevention. Our guest speaker is Dr. Pamela Perkins, PsyD. Dr. Perkins earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School in Wheaton, Illinois. Her Undergraduate degree in Theology and Education is from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. Dr. Perkins has extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments as well as therapy, and is the Director and Owner of Perkins Counseling & Psychological Services in Wake Forest.

Julie has presented at state conferences and local parenting venues on the topic of childhood anxiety. She understands the dangers of over-thinking and strives to help others with anxiety as a therapist.

The treatment of trauma is a large part of his practice and Bill has a passion to bring healing to those who are fractured and deeply broken in their souls. Bill has experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is a newer technique in treating trauma. *ASL translator will be present!

    Only by knowing God and applying His truth can we be fully alive, fully human and fully relational. Whether new to the Bible or a seasoned reader, we will explore Scripture together in small-group discussion and learn how the truths of Scripture can be applied to our daily lives.
