Next steps are not always comfortable and easy, but they are a start!

    Wednesday, January 22 – Depression. Our guest speaker is local Christian Psychiatrist Dr. Peter Van Dyck, MD. Dr. Van Dyck has been in private practice in Raleigh since 1987. He was Medical Director of the Minirth-Meier/New Life Treatment Program at Holly Hill Hospital and later the Clinical Director of the Adult Inpatient Program at the same hospital. 


     

    Wednesday, February 26 – Suicide Prevention. Our guest speaker is Dr. Pamela Perkins, PsyD. Dr. Perkins earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School in Wheaton, Illinois. Her Undergraduate degree in Theology and Education is from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. Dr. Perkins has extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments as well as therapy, and is the Director and Owner of Perkins Counseling & Psychological Services in Wake Forest.


     

    Wednesday, March 25 – Anxiety. *Due to the necessary precautions surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Mental Health & The Gospel "Anxiety" Seminar has been recorded and is available for you HERE. For more updates and to stay connected, visit crossroads.org/coronavirusOur guest speaker is Julie Sams, LPC, owner of Bowman Family Services and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience working with families and anxiety. Julie has presented at state conferences and local parenting venues on the topic of childhood anxiety. She understands the dangers of over-thinking and strives to help others with anxiety as a therapist.

     

    Wednesday, April 22 – Trauma. *Due to the necessary precautions surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Mental Health & The Gospel "Trauma" seminar will be rescheduled, date TBD. For more updates and to stay connected, visit crossroads.org/coronavirusOur guest speaker is Bill Venable, LPC, Co-Founder and President of LifeCare Counseling and Coaching, which has been in existence since 1997. The treatment of trauma is a large part of his practice and Bill has a passion to bring healing to those who are fractured and deeply broken in their souls. Bill has experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is a newer technique in treating trauma. *ASL translator will be present!

    Newcomer events provide a relaxed environment where you will enjoy a catered meal and meet some of our Elders, Pastors, and Ministry Leaders while discovering a myriad of ministry opportunities here at Crossroads.

    Our Kids Ministry will provide free child care and a meal for children age 10 and under with pre-registration.
