    Wednesday, January 22 – Depression. Our guest speaker is local Christian Psychiatrist Dr. Peter Van Dyck, MD. Dr. Van Dyck has been in private practice in Raleigh since 1987. He was Medical Director of the Minirth-Meier/New Life Treatment Program at Holly Hill Hospital and later the Clinical Director of the Adult Inpatient Program at the same hospital. 


     

    Wednesday, February 26 – Suicide Prevention. *Meeting in the Chapel at the Millbrook Campus. Our guest speaker is Dr. Pamela Perkins, PsyD. Dr. Perkins earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School in Wheaton, Illinois. Her Undergraduate degree in Theology and Education is from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. Dr. Perkins has extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments as well as therapy, and is the Director and Owner of Perkins Counseling & Psychological Services in Wake Forest.


     

    Wednesday, March 25 – Anxiety. Our guest speaker is Julie Sams, LPC, owner of Bowman Family Services and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience working with families and anxiety. Julie has presented at state conferences and local parenting venues on the topic of childhood anxiety. She understands the dangers of over-thinking and strives to help others with anxiety as a therapist.



     

    Wednesday, April 22 – Trauma. Our guest speaker is Bill Venable, LPC, Co-Founder and President of LifeCare Counseling and Coaching, which has been in existence since 1997. The treatment of trauma is a large part of his practice and Bill has a passion to bring healing to those who are fractured and deeply broken in their souls. Bill has experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is a newer technique in treating trauma.

    This will be a time for women to gather, fellowship and receive encouragement while discussing topics we can relate to - everything from stress management to women of the Bible. A new topic will be discussed each session along with hearing from a guest speaker. We will have food, table discussions and much more! There is no childcare available for these meetings.     Finding Peace After Abuse Recovery Groups

    Called to Peace Ministries is offering support groups for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and emotionally destructive relationships. The first group will meet at Hope Church of Raleigh at 4911 Green Rd on Thursday nights at 6:30pm, and there will be an online group for those who cannot make the local meetings.
