Let the Giants Fall!

Life is full of giants—those overwhelming obstacles that loom over us, trying to shake our faith and steal our peace. Some giants strike when we are weary, others rise up during difficult circumstances. Many of the giants we face wage war within our minds, whispering lies of inadequacy and fear. But as followers of Christ, we do not face these giants alone.

Romans 8:37 (ESV) reminds us: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Jesus has already won the ultimate victory—He conquered sin, the grave, hell, and death. Because He is victorious, we can walk in that same victory and trust Him to defeat the giants in our lives.

Here are four practical ways to stand strong and watch your giants fall:
  1. Rest and Take a Sabbath – When we are exhausted, we are more vulnerable to fear and doubt. Take time to rest and recharge in God’s presence, knowing that He fights for you.
  2. Remember God’s Faithfulness – Just as David recalled God’s past victories before facing Goliath, we must remind ourselves of how God has previously provided, protected, and strengthened us at other times.
  3. Surrender Every Thought to God – The battlefield often begins in the mind. Take every negative, fearful, or discouraging thought captive and align it with God’s truth (2 Corinthians 10:5).
  4. Keep Your Eyes on God, Not the Giant – The enemy wants us to focus on the size of our problem, but faith reminds us to focus on the greatness of our God. When we fix our eyes on Him, our giants lose their power.

No matter what giant you face this week, take heart! Jesus has already overcome, and in Him, you are more than a conqueror. Stand firm, trust in His strength, and watch the giants in your life fall!
