Humbled Hearts
As we continue exploring the thread of redemption throughout scripture this year, we now turn to the book of Ezra. This book shows that true restoration and redemption for God’s people involves fasting, humility, and a steadfast commitment to God’s glory.
When we fast, it deepens our dependence on God and heightens our spiritual sensitivity, revealing areas in our lives that need repentance. Humility comes from recognizing that God’s ways are higher and better than our own, prompting us to abandon self-reliance. Ultimately, when we seek God’s glory above our own personal comfort, we open ourselves to experiencing His redeeming power and renewal in all aspects of life.
Here are three actions to practice this week:
I pray that you experience the presence of the Lord as you seek Him.
